vMix 28: The Latest Features and Enhancements for Live Video Production
vMix has recently released version 28, packed with new features and improvements that take live video production to the next level. This update introduces a Web Telestrator, support for five streaming destinations, and advanced MultiView options.
Web Telestrator: Real-time Annotations
One of the most exciting additions in vMix 28 is the Web Telestrator. With this feature, users can add illustrations, shapes, and images to their production directly from a modern web browser. The Web Telestrator offers low-latency video preview and supports up to ten shortcut buttons for external control. This makes it ideal for sports analysis, presentations, and other applications where live annotations are needed.
Five Streaming Destinations and Encoder Statistics
With the growing demand for multi-platform streaming, vMix 28 has increased the number of simultaneous streaming destinations from three to five. This allows producers to broaden their content distribution without relying on external services. Additionally, a new Encoder tab has been added to the statistics section, enabling users to monitor the number of active encoders and their performance in real time.
New Playback Triggers
vMix 28 introduces two new triggers for inputs with playback time: OnPlaybackTime and OnPlaybackTimeRemaining. These triggers allow users to configure actions at specific moments during video playback, such as starting an overlay a few seconds before a video ends.
Enhanced MultiView Options
The update adds a second MultiView output, MultiView2, with its own unique configuration. Users can now choose to display only specific inputs or show a single input as a confidence monitor with audio meters. Additionally, MultiView sources can now be directly configured to select Mix inputs, offering more flexibility when managing complex productions.
System and Application Audio Inputs
Another valuable addition is the ability to capture audio from the Windows system or a specific application. This feature automatically excludes audio that is already present in vMix, making it easier to integrate external audio sources without unwanted echo.
With vMix 28, content creators and live production professionals can enjoy greater flexibility, improved streaming capabilities, and powerful new tools to enhance their productions. Are you ready to upgrade?
